waiting...

...for...

...ten minutes from now when it's time for my class to start and i get to sing with 28 kids, most of whom are quite nice but then there's the extremely small handful that can make my life a living...

...five hours from now when i will be free for the weekend... besides the early morning rehearsal i have with those same 28 kids tomorrow...

...five days from now when i get a five day weekend and get to eat sweet potatoes and stuffing and pumpkin pie...

...two weeks from now when we have our biggest event of the year that everyone talked me into doing and we have not sold out. but those who are coming are in for a big treat...

...four weeks from now when i am free from school for two whole weeks for christmas break...

...five weeks from now when it's christmas - the best holiday of the year...

...five weeks and two days from now when we celebrate our 3 year anniversary...

...six weeks and two days from now when i go back to school for who knows how long...

...ten weeks from now when a little person will enter our lives and we will never be the same...

pokes and prods

today i did my glucose tolerance test. i had to drink that sweet orange drink really fast and then hang out for an hour so they could draw my blood. the drink wasn't nearly as bad as some people have made it out to be... it really did just taste like a melted orange otter pop. and thank goodness the outpatient center had it refrigerated.

then while i waited in the lobby i watched fraiser and the george lopez show with subtitles. i'd never watched either one of them before and i don't think i'll ever watch either one again... though george lopez was pretty funny. it reminded me a lot of everybody loves raymond, which i love.

then the dreaded blood draw. it took all of one minute but i can never watch when they poke me and take out my blood... and i hate that feeling of having something stuck in my arm. but i guess i'd better get used to it because i'm going to have an iv and junk.

as if this all weren't enough, i get to go back tomorrow for my rhogam shot, because i'm rh negative. six months ago i wouldn't have known what that meant, but now i sound like i could practically be a doctor with all of my medical jargon...

and as if THAT weren't enough pokes and prods, i FINALLY got a reservation ticket for the h1N1 vaccine, which i will be receiving tomorrow afternoon. i haven't been poked this many times in my life, and it's all happening in these two days.

i'm not really complaining, but i guess i am. or just hoping you'll all leave comments that say "poor baby! it's all going to be ok." haha... i hope you all feel incredibly sorry for my rough life. :)

p.s.
new moon comes out in TEN days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seriously??

i went to the utah county health clinic this morning to get the h1n1 vaccine before I had my first class I have to teach at nine. the clinic is supposed to start at 8 a.m., so i figure that getting myself there 20 minutes before 8 should do the trick, and that it probably wouldn't take longer than an hour... HA! we drove up and i kid you not, THOUSANDS of people were standing out in the cold (probably contracting the virus at that very moment) waiting to get inside. they must have been there for hours and hours. knowing that this ridiculously long line would require hours of waiting, i came straight to school.

i plan to try again this afternoon, when i have a few hours that i guess i'll have to spare.... though i seriously doubt there will be any left. but being pregnant, i don't really want to take chances getting sick...

on the other hand though, i guess if everyone else in the county has had the vaccine, then they won't get the swine flu, and so i won't catch it either!

100 days...

...until we are due to have this little girl! it's hard to believe i'm nearly 2/3 of the way there... and from what i hear the worst is yet to come. but she's worth every second of discomfort/pain.

it's time to start getting ready! currently all we've got is a cradle (handmade by my dad years and years ago. nearly every child and grandchild has used it), a complimentary select health onesie, and an udder cover i got for free.... seriously. that's it.

we have a lot to do. we'll keep you posted!

confirmation: people are pyscho

i stop here once in a while for a good laugh. i think this chick (i assume it's a chick) is creative and knows just what to say to either A. make truths about our culture and society so clear and funny or B. make certain people so angry they can't contain themselves.

do they really think she's serious? really? i know she might say some controversial stuff sometimes but to take her seriously? it doesn't even translate to me.

but i think she's a wit and though it's not all awesome, she does make some good points about "us mormons" and the ways we sometimes behave. maybe too close to home for some of us sometimes, but i think it's healthy to laugh at myself and the stupid, silly things i do and think.

honestly though people. is it just me that thinks she's hilarious? or am i a jack mormon too?
